Because this herb can poison wolves and foxes, it was traditionally carried to protect against wolves and Werewolves. The toxins in the lichen were said to bring on visions and the ability to transform into a wolf. Hung over the door it protects the family from all manner of harm. One can use Wolf Lichen, Broom and Pine Needles in a sachet to provide cleansing and transforming magick as well as protection to a space.
